Ph.D. Training in Reproductive Biology/Reproductive Immunology

An opportunity exists to study for the Ph.D. in Animal Sciences with an emphasis in Reproductive Biology/ Reproductive Immunology in the newly formed Center for Reproductive Biology and Health (CRBH) at Penn State University. This position will be available at the start of the fall semester of 2009. The research is focused on conceptus-endometrial interactions required for the establishment of pregnancy in domestic ruminants. Specific focus will include studies defining the interaction between the conceptus, endometrial cells and intraepithelial lymphocytes during pregnancy recognition signaling. Additional projects will involve studies of the basic mechanisms regulating secretion by uterine epithelial cells, and projects to be developed by the successful applicant. Technical skills in molecular biology, cell culture and immunology are preferred. Preference will be given to applicants with an M.S. degree in reproductive biology, immunology or related disciplines. The

 

CRBH consists of 14 faculty across 4 colleges, including 10 faculty hired within the last 3 years, providing diverse training in a dynamic, interactive environment.
